PRIVATE PARTY TRANSFERS
We do Private Party Transfers for a single firearm from 2PM – 4PM, Monday – Friday, with a scheduled appointment via email. We will not start a PPT transaction if it is the case the buyer and seller do not have all the necessary documentation, or the transfer cannot be completed by 4PM. Any transfer of more than 1 firearm, including transfers to & from multiple people and a single seller or buyer, will require individual appointments.
To schedule an appointment for a PPT, we must receive an email (niceshotrange@gmail.com or the link following this page) with copies or pictures of all the necessary documents.
Contact information for both parties will need to be provided in the email, including name, phone number, email address, Firearm Safety Card or exemption, two proofs of residency with consistent addresses, birth place, and the make and model of a California Approved Safe that will accomodate the firearm(s). The firearm or firearms to be transferred will need to be detailed, and a picture provided. Once these are verified, we will contact you to schedule an appointment.
Both parties must arrive at the scheduled time. Please note that, due to high demand for appointments and limited space, transfer appointments are recommended to be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.
Both parties must have a valid CA driver’s license or identification card. If in the top, right-hand corner it states Federal Limits Apply, you must also bring a US Passport or a Certified Birth Certificate. If you were not born in the US, you can bring a Permanent Resident Card or your naturalization paperwork.
A CA legal magazine, a California Approved Lock, and the make and model of a California Approved Safe details are required to process your PPT. If you do not have these items, we can sell them to you in-store, if available.
We conduct Private Party Transfers one at a time and only start the process if all of the needed documents are present and correct, and when there are no more non-transfer customers needing assistance.
The charge for conducting a PPT of a single firearm is $47.19 ($37.19 DROS+$10 labor fee). There is a 3% credit card fee. Cash or check do not incur an additional fee.
We are not responsible for items that are damaged during storage, or misrepresented by the original seller.
By engaging in this process with Nice Shot you agree to these terms.
FFL Transfer Procedures
Please review all of the documents we need from you and the FFL shipping the firearm before sending a firearm to us. Missing documents cost time and money to correct, and there are separate fees associated with missing or incorrect information, so please be mindful of what is required.
For us to receive an FFL transfer, you are required to come to the store and provide the information for the transaction and pay the associated fees before sending the firearm to us. This allows us to confirm the firearm is compliant and collect your information to expedite the process. If you fail to notify us, your delivery can likely be denied and returned at the shipper’s/your expense. Any FFL transfers failing to notify us in advance will be subject to an additional $50.00 fee.
We require an invoice showing that sales tax and CA FET have been paid. If no invoice is provided or sales tax and CA FET have not been paid, we are required to collect the appropriate amount, as well as an additional $50 penalty fee.
We must receive a copy of the FFL and a copy of the CFLC Letter with an AI number.
Failure to provide either will result in an additional $50.00 penalty fee. The FFL that will be shipping to us is responsible for requesting our FFL and CFD. They can make such requests by emailing: niceshotrange@gmail.com.
We will notify you when the firearm is received, logged, and ready to be processed.

We will store the firearm for 14 days from the day we notify you of its arrival at no charge. For each day past the 14 period, a $5 per day storage fee (subject to sales tax and 11% FET) will be assessed.
If you either fail to complete the transaction within 3 months or do not pay the
associated fees, the firearm will be considered abandoned and sold to recover our costs.
If you decide you do not want to complete the transaction through us after we have received the firearm, you are responsible for all receiving, logging, storage and shipping fees associated with the transfer. The cost of returning a firearm is determined on a case basis, with many factors such as paperwork and shipping affecting the price.

Failure to pay these fees will result in us retaining these items to cover any associated costs of the transaction.
